CAMPAIGNING FOR BRITISH INDEPENDENCE

NO TO THE E.U. SUPER STATE

The Campaign for National Democracy believes that there is a common cultural and historical link between the nations of Europe, however there are also many differences and each nation has developed a distinct identity. We believe that each nation has an absolute right to govern its own affairs - this includes nations in both Western and Eastern Europe. Only when this absolute right is accepted can true friendship , respect and co-operation develop between nations.

As a consequence C.N.D. is totally opposed to the attempt to impose a 'European' authority over the right of the British Parliament and people, or to enforce soem sort of merger between the European nations into one 'Euro-Super State'. Any such attempt will simply build a bureaucratic empire along exactly the same lines as the one which collapsed in Eastern Europe.

NO TO EUROPE TURNING GREY

One of the glories of Europe is its diversity from the warm Catholic South to the cold Protestant North. While there are generally common values derived from our common Christian heritage and our generally accepted belief in democracy, there are wide variations which make it ludicrous to attempt to impose common standards on the whole continent. It simply does not make sense to adopt identical standards, uniform regulations and common political systems. Each country has its own rich heritage which is now being threatened by the E.U. bureaucrats' attempts to impose their rules so that the whole of Europe can be administered by the faceless paper shufflers of Brussels,

One rule for making cheese in hit Italy and the same rule for cold Scotland is absurd. One system of government for Sicily and for Northern Ireland is madness. Already the loss of national currencies is being regretted in some E.U. counties, and it is only a matte fo time before some lunatic starts to suggest thjat you can only have common rules and equal trading when you have one language with the loss of our rich European cultural heritage.

The Campaign For National Democracy Would:-

1. Withdraw Britain from the European Union and cease to make any financial contributions to this new Euro Super State.

2. Support the right of self determination of all nations.

3. Oppose the moving of decision making power further away from the British people.

4. Encourage the cultural diversity within the nations of Europe and resist attempts to eliminate this.

5. Encourage the development of cultural and sporting links with other European nations.

C.N.D. is actively campaigning to oppose the introduction of the euro

CND regularly exposes the corruption of bureaucrats and the self-seeking politicians who are aboard the euro gravy train

CND helps those political parties in Britain which oppose the euro by printing their literature, giving advice and encouraging support for their activities
